Brought us our first niece.
A bit earlier, so my sewing machine is picking up speed, the Magic Forrest Quilt is going towards the finish!

Super speed, my youngest sister Lisa is rowing at Henley this weekend. Having a very good chance on bringing home the prestigious Princess Royal Challenge Cup. We’re looking forward to the final tonight, watch her on: http://www.hrr.co.uk

Winning a pack of play-doh, the perfect way to entertain the kids for the rest of the day.

We’ve started the Winter holidays, for me a two week break from being a “taxi driver”, for the eldest two a well earned break from school. We’re not going away, too cold for camping! But we’ve made a can-do-list with activities with the kids. Cinema, cupcakes, playground, pasta making, BMX-track, painting, library, walks,... And two major celebrations coming up this week.

This weekend

 Lazy mornings on the deck, it’s school holidays at the moment and the kids have been making the most of the beautiful sunny days, playing outside. Only to come back in to hunt up snacks.

Fungus

While we are watching fungi grow, my little sister is going for her second big rowing tournament in a week. She came in second in The Ladies Trophy. Straight after after two-time Olympic Champion and six-time World Champion Ekaterina Karsten. Only to make into the finals again a couple of days later in the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta. She’ll be up against another World Champion and Olympic Gold medalist (Miroslava Knapková). We’ll be biting nails again tonight. Go sis!

 I really love these country birthday parties.

 Playing games outside with friends, cake and running through paddocks and creeks to hunt up marshmallow sticks for the bonfire.

Only a couple more days and he will be a birthday boy.

Fan club - updated

This weekend, my youngest sister will be competing in Sevilla (Spain) for the European Rowing Championships.

The Lisa Scheenaard fan club, division Australian is ready.

Update:
Lisa's team, Women Quadruple Skulls, have only been rowing together for a couple of weeks. It was a last minute decision that they were even allowed to go, with only the hope that they would make it into the A finale. They were up against last years Olympic winners of gold and silver. Who doesn't love the underdog?
Well, big surprise, they took silver!!!
