Mothers Day

For our mums, our annual photo shoot
Breakfast in the sun (almond meal, buttermilk, lots of egg and chia seed pancakes with macadamia chocolate butter, banana and raspberry jam)
 Lots of crafty presents.
I’ve been accused of nesting, seriously! Okay, I got some interesting books from the library…
And got a couple of sewing projects going…
Even my picnic rug might become safety pin free at last, a nice project in the evening by the fire. Only 3 more panels of hand sewing around the centred birds….
And I’ve got some cooking projects going, pantry is filling up with lacto-fermented gingered carrots, roasted beetroot, tomato relish,… The fridge is overflowing with oregano&chives yoghurt cheese, lamb leg moussaka, soups and lots and other freshly made goodies. The freezer is full with hearty stews, curries and stocks. Oven is doing overtime, freshly baked breads, activated nuts, macadamia cookies and the occasional cake. To the point that visitors are having to take home pea and ham soup with freshly baked Turkish bread so I can close the fridge…
While the kitchen garden is looking like a cooks paradise. Just about every herb is growing alongside, fresh lettuce, spinach, capsicums, lots of chilies, more pumpkins, carrots, beets, broccoli, celery, bok choi, garlic, 4 different types of tomatoes, cabbage, peas, beans, strawberries… Even some white button mushrooms…

But that’s not me nesting! Jeez I still have 7 weeks to go! This is me on an increased iron level, it sort of bottomed out during a fourth pregnancy, a hardly-any-sleep-year and 3.5 years of breastfeeding. What a couple of iron tablets can do… Hello world!
