It has become our evening ritual to turn of lights and electronics half an hour before bed time. Just a candle, a mug of herbal tea an each other company to wind down after a busy day.
I love the beeswax candles, they clean the air, have this gorgeous honey scent and don’t leave any soot on the walls. Down side is that they can be quite pricey.
I remember making candles with my mum, by just melting little leftover bits in a tin, then dipping a piece of cotton string until you layered yourself a taper. On the markets a stumbled upon a block of local beeswax, gathered some suitable wicks and instructions on the internet, melted a little wax in a double boiler, hung a wick in the middle of a little bowl and poured my first candle.
