The last couple of weeks have been dry and smokey, lots of bush fires have been going around.
With August being our windy month and everything being so dry, the fire spreads very quickly. To the point that fire bomber planes have already been active and a fire ban is in place.
But this weekend brought rain, a beautiful 50mm. Enough to give all the tanks and dams a good boost, and all the firies a good night sleep at last. It amazing how quickly everything green up again, with a lot of happy cattle.
The howling August wind has brought a lot of branches down, very convenient, we pick some up every day to light the fire.
These fellas have keeled over, still suspended above the fence. More then enough fire wood for another Winter!
Anyone up for a chainsaw party?
